Case Study
App Design
McDonald's was looking for a voting system that would engage users in a memorable way, achieved through a simple yet clever UX design in their app. This design needed to be flexible enough to be adapted and customized for various campaigns. Our goal was to craft a digital experience that not only captures users' attention but also provides enjoyable interactions and rewards, functioning simultaneously as an effective tool for collecting valuable user data. Striving for a balance between engagement and data insights, the project aims to deliver a memorable and interactive user experience.
Theory:
Setting the groundwork involved defining key goals such as leaving a lasting impression on users, ensuring an enjoyable interaction, implementing reward systems, and collecting insightful user preference data. Thorough research we explored different voting mechanics, effective reward systems, principles of interaction design, and the ideal art style for broader user engagement.
Design:
Building upon the theoretical framework, we created multiple wireframe flows using identified mechanics. This process helped map out the user journey, focusing on how users progress through the experience and encounter different elements. Interaction design was a key focus, aiming to develop user-friendly interactions that create a "juicy" experience. Team collaboration was pivotal during this phase to ensure diverse perspectives in the design process.
